Here’s a simple recipe for a delicious pear tart:

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry, thawed
  • 2-3 ripe pears, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Transfer the pastry to the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Arrange the sliced pears on top of the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the pears.
  • Fold the edges of the pastry up and over the pears, crimping as you go to create a rustic, free-form crust.
  • Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
  • Sprinkle the turbinado sugar over the edges of the pastry.
  • Bake the tart for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender.
  • Let the tart cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving
