Few Notes To Cabbage Farming

Perhaps, you have always wanted to grow cabbage but need some handy notes to take.  Oh well, growing cabbage is not as difficult as you had thought.

But, do not expect to dive right in and voila, your favourite vegetable is ready to consume. No. You need to do the field work in a few simple steps to help you grow your cabbage, proficiently.

For a simplified meaning, WikiHow defines cabbage as “a delicious, nutritious, and versatile vegetable with dense leaves.” Remember most of the vegetable that form your salad or cold-slaw? That is cabbage. It can be eaten raw, cooked and even fermented. In fact, your sauerkraut soup is made by fermenting finely chopped cabbage.

Interestingly, resources are littered everywhere in the internet so cabbage farming is not really rocket science as it appears.

Importantly, just note that cabbage is not ‘all-weather’ to put it colloquially. Hot weather condition is a no no for a cabbage grower. Cabbage actually likes the weather cool even though it enjoys lots of sun, too.  So? If you live in the western world, consider growing your cabbage from September 24 to December 22 whereas, if you are in the southern hemisphere, you can look at the months March, April and May.

Want to grow cabbage in your garden already? Hope you take a note or two from this post. Thanks for reading.
