Cairo 3A for Poultry, a subsidiary of the larger Cairo 3A agri-food group, has officially inaugurated a cutting-edge poultry processing plant in the industrial zone of the Tenth of Ramadan City.

The new facility, built for EGP 600 million (US$71 million), is poised to meet the surging domestic demand for poultry products while positioning the company for increased export opportunities.

Spanning an impressive 10,000 square meters, the factory boasts advanced technology and is designed to produce a diverse range of poultry products, including nuggets, strips, fillets, and whole chickens.

Ibrahim Wajdi, the CEO of Cairo 3A for Poultry, stated that the initial production capacity of the factory is set at 9,000 tonnes per year, with plans to double this capacity to 18,000 tonnes annually in the future.

Wajdi emphasized that the new plant signifies a pivotal step in Cairo 3A’s overarching strategy to achieve comprehensive integration in the poultry production process.

“This integration encompasses everything from poultry breeding and raising to feed production and the final manufacturing of various poultry products,” he revealed.

Cairo 3A for Poultry, a key player within the Cairo 3A Group, holds a significant presence in the Egyptian poultry industry, commanding a 25% share of the frozen chicken market.

Over the years, the company has intensified its investments in the processing segment, reflecting a commitment to meeting evolving market demands.

The CEO highlighted that the inauguration aligns with Cairo 3A’s broader expansion plans in the poultry industry, with a US$32 million expansion program slated for 2024.

“This program aims to fortify the group’s position as a major contributor to Egypt’s agri-food landscape,” he said.

“The new plant’s launch is expected to not only bolster local production capabilities but also create opportunities for exporting high-quality poultry products.”
