How to prepare Libyan Shakshouka
Shakshouka is a traditional food in Libya ,This meal is prepared by using eggs which are poached in omelettes way in a sauce of chili pepper, tomatoes, and onions, and nutmeg, cumin, cayenne pepper, and paprika are also used to spice it.while mutton can be used as its meat base.
Parsley leaves (fresh/shredded)
Olive oil /vegetable oil
- Heat olive oil in a skillet
- on medium heat. Add the chopped bell pepper, onion and cook for 5 minutes or until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add garlic and the other spices and cook for an additional 2minute.
- Pour the can of tomatoes and juice into the pan and break down the tomatoes using a large spoon. Season with salt and pepper and bring the sauce to a simmer.
