How to prepare popular Ghanian Shito sauce
Mostly used in a lot of West African music lyrics due to it’s really sweet nature, this guide will help you make sure your “love no sweet pass shito”.
Used usually as an accompaniment for Ghanaian Waakye rice, Shito is a spicy dark coloured sauce.
Here is an easy step by step way to prepare Shito.
1 medium onion
2 tablespoons of blended crayfish
3 seasoning cubes
1 cup of oil
1. Use a blender or food processor to grind the peppers and onions.
2. Place a wide pan on medium heat the pour some oil in it.
3. Pour the grounded pepper into the hot oil and add the remaining ingredients while you keep stirring.
4. Leave on heat for close to 2 hours till it becomes really dark while you still keep stirring to avoid burning.
Your Shito is ready to be served with Waakye!
