How to make your fruit cake
This recipe is a guide in making your homemade fruit or chocolate cake as it may be.Fruit cake is quite common in all countries and consumed on occasions,but it is now being made on not just occasions again.
Ingredients
- Unsalted Butter
- Eggs
- Brown sugar
- flour
- lime juice /Zest
- vanilla extract
- Almond extract
- rosewater
- Brownies
- fruits (blended)
- baking powder
- cinnamon powder
- salt
- Nnutmeg
- molasses
Method
Prepare the Blended Fruits and Set aside.now grease your Baking Pan with butter. Line the baking pan with parchment paper around the sides and bottom too to avoid burning of the cake. Set aside for later.Preheat the oven,then put some boiled water in a baking pan and put it at the bottom rack of the oven as This will ensure the cake do not dry out.Sieve and whisk together the dry ingredients: The flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon powder, nutmeg and mixed spice in a large bowl.In a mixing bowl, add the unsalted butter and brown sugar and cream together and mix until light and fluffy.Beat in the eggs one at a time. Then add the lime zest, lime juice, vanilla, rose water, almond extract and mix together and add the blended fruits, molasses and browning sauce and mix together.Gradually fold in the dry ingredients half cup at a time into the wet ingredients. If you want the mixture to be much darker, then add more browning sauce after adding the dry ingredients.Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and place in the oven on the middle rack.Bake for about 2hours or until a dinner knife or wooden toothpick is inserted in the middle of the cake and it come out clean. Please check cake from time to time, as baking times to avoid the cake from.Remove the cake once it is baked and pour a little Red Label Wine or White Rum or even both on the top of the cake.Allow to cool, then slice and serve
