Foods that might be harmful to an Expecting mother
An expecting mother shouldn’t be seen eating everything as that might be risky for her unborn child.

Here is a list of foods and beverages to avoid or minimize when pregnant:
- Cheese:
You should avoid certain types of cheese because they some cheese can cause an infection called listeriosis, it is advisable for a pregnant woman to avoid some type of cheese as this can be harmful to the baby some of these cheese include; soft blue cheese, soft goat cheese, mould-ripened soft cheese.
- Fish:
Oily fish naturally helps to develop a baby’s nervous system; however an expecting mother shouldn’t eat more than 2 portions because some of this fishes may contain some pollutants that can harm the baby.
- Alcoholic drinks:
It is ideal you reduce or stop your intake of alcohol as this can harm you and your baby, as some of the content might be too harsh for the little infant.
- Caffeine:
It is advisable to reduce to your caffeine intake as this could lead to some complications which could be harmful for the baby.
- Green tea:
Green tea naturally contains caffeine and such it should be reduced during pregnancy.
- Unpasteurized dairy products:
They can give you food poisoning, unpasteurized milk can food poisoning such as listeriosis. Listeriosis is usually associated with germs in food and this can hurt the baby.
