Africans have been producing and consuming alcoholic beverages from a wide line-up of fruits, grains, and other natural substances for as far back as the historical record goes.

Here is a list of Africa most of popular Alcoholic drinks:

  • Thibarine:

This is a sweet liqueur originated from Tunisia and it was created by the Missionaries in Africa in the 1940’s.

  • Boukha:

Boukha is a colorless spirit that hails from Tunisia spirit, it was first produced by Yaakov Bokobsa and his sons in 1820 but perfected the recipe in 1870.

  • Pinotage:

Pinotage hails from South Africa and it was produced in 1925. These wines come in purple and red fruits flavours.

  • Umqombothi:

This is a home-brewed beer that hails from South Africa; It is made out of maize and sorghum.

  • Chenin Blanc:

This wine originates from the French Loire valley and It has shown great success in South Africa.

  • Amarula:

This popular cream liqueur hails from South Africa, it is produced with a base spirit that is refined.
