Foods and drinks you should avoid during period
For women generally, during your period you might want to avoid certain foods that can worsen the symptoms of your period. In this article, I will be listing out those foods.

- Alcohol:
Alcohol can have certain effects on your body which might be negative especially when you are on your period, as this can increase your menstrual cramp. Alcohol could even dehydrate you, cause you to have headache or bloating, so it should be strictly avoided when on your period.
- Coffee:
Coffee can cause you to have digestive problem, especially if you are the type of person that get diarrhoea during your period, it is advisable to reduce your coffee intake as this trigger it.
- Sugar:
Sugar is good for the body but excess intake of it could increase your menstrual cramp, so it is advisable to reduce your sugar intake when on your period.
- Salty food:
To reduce bloating during period, reduce the salt you add to your foods as this can lead to water retention which can cause bloating in the process.
- Spicy food:
For people whose stomach doesn’t accept spicy food, it is best you avoid it as this can trigger diarrhoea and excessive stomach pain.
